Luneta Hotel

DSC4245

Heard so much about the Luneta Hotel and its 6-year restoration while I was away
so we passed by one afternoon to check it out

The historic hotel was built in 1918 and designed by Spanish architect-engineer Salvador Farre.
It is the only French Renaissance architectural structure left in the Philippines. I am so glad
they kept the original design and details - French windows, grilles, carvings and all.

And the drama of this sitting area!

Too bad the gilded chairs are not for sitting, but for "seeing" only  :$

We went up to check out the guest rooms

Room 406 is their suite, the most expensive room in the hotel at around Php10k++

My favorite part of the room is this telephone. What a fashionable way to talk to the
front desk, concierge, housekeeping, and room service!

The bright and modern bathroom didn't really go with the theme

We wanted to try their 1918-inspired menu at the restaurant, but decided to give them more time. My cousins ate there recently and reported that it took about 2 hours for their food to arrive.
