Gramercy New York ♥ ♥

DSC1385

I am not in New York.
I am at the basement of Takashimaya Times Square in Shinjuku.

Gramercy New York is a cake shop specializing in Japanese cakes and pastries,
meaning too-pretty-to-eat, very-light-in-flavors, loaded-with-fresh-fruits-and-cream
kind of desserts. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I don't.

Gramercy is popular for its cheesecakes, too, although I am not really a big fan of light and fluffy
Japanese cheesecakes. I like my cheesecake rich and thick. I like to taste CHEESE.

Here are some of the beauties on display. Each piece is a work of art!

I was at Gramercy New York to try its bestseller...

And Gramercy New York's bestseller is the Gramercy New York! Lol!

Contrary to my usual habit, I did not unwrap and eat my cake immediately.
But only because it was raining and I had to hold an umbrella over my head.

So I practiced patience and waited until I got back to the hotel

AND SURPRISE!!!!!! I got myself not only one, but two cakes! Mwahahahaha!
Check out how meticulously they packaged my desserts to make sure they do not move and
melt. I am happy to report that they were still in very good condition after I roamed aimlessly
around Golden Gai and ran to the metro station to catch the last train back to the hotel.

The Gramercy New York aka Strawberry Shortcake
Yes, it was light and airy and the strawberries were sweet and all that,
but it was also a little too boring for my palate.

Thank goodness I got a second slice. This Koicha Opera was full of matcha flavor, and the
sweet shiny black beans on top sealed the deal. My palate loves me.
