skull on the counter, and a green-haired girl taking reservations.

The very young servers were a bit engrossed with their phones, but I liked
how neatly they stacked our eating tools
We were sad that the Buttermilk Fried Chicken is available only on Saturdays.
To mend our broken hearts, we ordered all 6 mains to share among the 4 of us.

Crispy Pork Belly Banh Mi
Hoisin mayonnaise, pickled carrots + radish, red cabbage, cilantro, brioche
100% Beef Burger
Sharp cheddar, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, Russian dressing, brioche.
The patty was tough and overcooked. The heavenly fries kinda made up for it.
Korean BBQ Rib Eye
The kimchi fried rice needed a lot more spunk.
Blackened Snapper
Sweet potato mash, beurre blanc, spinach oil, frisee, tarragon vinaigrette.
Moist and flavorful. The sweetness of the mashed kamote cut through the bitterness of the crust.
Maple Pork Belly
Balsamic, roasted garlic, butternut pumpkin, wilted spinach.
Could be a lot more tender.
Hanging Tender
Brown butter jus, potato puree, maple red cabbage, wild arugula.
Perfect doneness! I liked this steak dish and the blackened snapper the best.
Brioche Bread Pudding
So happy to see The JJ Yulo and Maita Quesada also lunching at the restaurant! :)
But I must admit, not as happy as I was to eat this homemade Twix. Sorry, JJ and Maita, but
OH. MY. GODDDDD!!!!!! The thick sheet of chocolate, the goo, the biscuit and the sprinkling of
sea salt put me in a state of frenzied bliss! I was still daydreaming about it when we were
having our second lunch at Gusto.
