The Black Pig is the reason why I'm in Alabang twice in the span of 20 days.
I love it even more now than my first time, if that is even possible. See first time here.
Just look at the welcome party that greeted me
I could eat a few hundreds of this pasta choux. It was like cream puff, but instead of cream,
the puff was filled with creamy cheese sauce.
And could there possibly be a better way to kickstart the day than with
a carafe of The Black Pig Sangria? NO.
I was too happy to see this new item on the menu - Black Ink Risotto with Squid and Capers!
And boy, was my tummy even happier to taste it! It rejoiced in every spoonful of the perfectly
cooked risotto, with rice grains having the right firmness and gooey-ness, and all the elements
working beautifully together. This is the risotto of all risottos.
The meat dishes, like everything else on The Black Pig's menu, are well thought of. Until now I can't decide if I like the steak or rack of lamb more.
Here's a virtual tissue for you to wipe away your drool.
Rack of Lamb, Pulled Shoulder of Lamb
Fondant potato, raisin puree, creamed spinach
Grilled 45-Day Aged, Grass Fed Ribeye
Parsley dressing, pumpkin puree, roasted eggplant
As tender as a baby's butt!
Even the potatoes were wiped out, to the last wedge
I wanted to order the exact same 3 desserts I had last time because they did incredible things to my happy hormones. But for the purposes of this blog, I ordered something new.
To all the citrusy dessert lovers out there, you can start thanking me NOW.
Calamansi Creme Brûlée, Sorbet and Black Pepper
OH MY GOD, this was so loaded with intense, tongue-tingling calamansi flavor
my face started twitching involuntarily while I was trying to be cute for my date.
It was awful and I loved it.
