Mom was complaining about how small our table was.
I explained to her that it is because on Valentine's Day, people dine in pairs and the size of our table is just right for two.
True enough, when I looked around, it was all couples at Brasserie Girolle
on the evening of February 14
Except for these two people who couldn't get rid of their single daughter aka
jinlovestoeatwithherparentsonvalentinesday
Brasserie Girolle offered a Valentines Set Dinner, but we ordered a la carte because
Mom and Dad don't eat beef, and I just finished a large tub of buttered popcorn from our
movie date earlier. Yes, the three of us again. Lol.
Dad had the Creme de Champignons, a velvety mushroom soup with truffle oil
Mom and I had the Escargots de Bourgogne - French snails in herbed butter.
The bread was used to mop up all the leftover juices.
For mains, Dad had the Slow Braised Australian Lamb Shank with White Beans and Lamb Jus.
I could see the meat was very tender.
Mom had Pan fried US Scallops with Mushroom Cream Sauce. This was supposed to come
with a really good mashed potato base, but she requested to have it changed to white rice.
She is Genuine Intsik like that.
AND she removed all the bacon bits and wouldn't let me touch them
I had the Beef Tartare and I am giving Brasserie Girolle ♥ ♥ ♥ for this dish. It was sensational.
Of course, Mom thought I was having a burger patty. She freaked out when I told her
it was raw beef. Thank God for dim lighting.

The Profiteroles were rather ordinary
While I was eating my dessert, Mom kept asking me about a certain restaurant called Suites Makati. I said I've never heard of it.
She asked me to find out because it is one of the 3 restaurants with 50% off promo with her Security Bank credit card.
She enumerated the list to me matter-of-factly
Restaurant 1 - Holiday Inn
Restaurant 2 - Suites Makati
Restaurant 3 - Flavors
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!
