When my cousin Ritchie invited me to join dinner with her friends at Joe's Meat Shack, she asked me to come in pants because "the restaurant only has outdoor seating."
"There is also a bar right next to it."
I was imagining a nice al fresco place like the rooftop restaurant at Bayleaf Intramuros.
I wasn't, for the life of me, expecting this.
Joe's Meat Shack
The restaurant was a shipping container converted into a kitchen with tables and chairs
romantically illuminated by the stars above (okay, it was the street lamp, lol!). I LOVED IT!!!
The menu was a very simple one-pager complete with all the stuff you'd ever
want to eat from a food truck - burgers, fries, hotdogs, buffalo wings, coke.
Open kitchen. I spied our burger buns on the grill.
Gravy Cheese Fries
I enjoyed the sweet and spicy Buffalo Wings. It was covered in a hot sauce that tasted so familiar.
The Hot Pockets filled with pulled pork were big on flavors
The bar beside Joe's Meat Shack is this speakeasy called Finders Keepers
You are allowed to bring in food from Joe's Meat Shack. And so we did.
Outside we had the lamp post, here we had candles.
It was actually quite romantic
White Sangria
Strawberry Don
All burgers came with a generous portion of fries. I knew I shouldn't have eaten so much poutine!
Truffle Mushroom Burger. I would like more of the truffle and less of the cheese.
Foie Gras Burger
Pig Belly Burger. My favorite of the three. The pork belly was juicy, crisp and flavorful and
instantly perked up the overcooked patty. Next time I'll request for medium rare.
Fudge Brownie a la Mode
