Inagiku, A Third Time ♥ ♥ ♥

So I had a choice between a carb-heavy Italian dinner at Paparazzi and a healthier protein-rich Japanese meal at Inagiku.

I chose healthy. Naks!!!

Inagiku was quiet for a Saturday night. We were able to enjoy our healthy meal in silence.

We created our own healthy sashimi platter

We had salmon which is rich in omega-3 fatty acids

Uni which is known for its rejuvenating and healing properties

Hamachi which is also an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids and helps battles
inflammatory conditions like arthritis

Amaebi which contains selenium to ward off prostate cancer and is also full of zinc,
iron, magnesium and vitamin B

Our sashimi platter came with a chunk of fresh wasabi which is good for eliminating bacteria
and promotes liver health. I love fresh wasabi and used up the whole chunk quickly.
Sadly, when we asked for more, they gave us the kind made from powder. Ack.

Soft Shell Crab Tempura which is high in vitamins and high quality proteins and amino acids
and is rich in minerals like calcium, copper, zinc, phosphorus and iron

Beef is the #1 source of protein, vitamin B12 and zinc. It is also the #3 food source of iron
behind fortified cereals and grains. Beef is really good for your health!

Okay, I have absolutely no excuse for these slabs of buttery foie gras except it was the holidays

And it looked really sexy on top of Vitamin B

I admit the meal was too rich even for me. So we ordered a tofu salad to balance everything out.

I imagined silky cold tofu on a bed of greens drizzled with creamy sesame dressing like my favorite at Urameshiya.

But this was what came out. Little cubes of tofu thickly breaded and deep fried,
accompanied by coarsely shredded greens. I felt like a horse eating grass.

Here's Santa taking me for a joyride because I've been a very good and very healthy girl all 2013 ;)
