Last time Mom and I were at C'est la B, we were killing the final 30 minutes before our dinner, so I held back from ordering the fun bento boxes I saw on the menu.
Instead we had a slice of rainbow cake. See post here.
But this time with Shirley, there was no holding back.
We ordered the bento set which came with soup of the day, your choice of small cake, and coffee or tea.
The soup came in this giant cup. It doesn't look like it in the photo, but I promise it was
as big as my face!
The mushroom soup was creamy and earthy
Shirley had the Osaka Box - spaghettini vongole with dashi and sake drizzles,
salad greens and fried prawns
I had the Tokyo Box - fried pork chop with curry udon, salad greens and jiaozi (dumplings)
No, this wasn't the imitation food display by the window. This was exactly how my pork looked like -
shiny and fake. It was completely tasteless, too! The udon was as soggy as a used teabag.
In fairness, the curry dumplings were quite tasty.
Shirley had "Better Than Sex," a choco fudge cake with caramel crunch
and salted toffee. I thought it didn't live up to its name. Lol.
I had "Paradise," a taro chiffon cake with coconut cream and glazed
young coconut. Mannnnn, this is why more and more women fake
it nowadays! LOL! :D
Shirley and I :)
