Brickhouse ♥ ♥

We almost missed it.

And then I saw the green sign with an arrow directing me to the house of tacos

Errrrmmm… so this is Brickhouse, the sister restaurant of the dark and handsome
Blue Butcher. (See my post on the steakhouse here.)

The place was rowdy and noisy, it made me wanna get my hands very dirty ;)

Brickhouse' menu is simple and easy

Cocktail list

I, the diabla of all diablas, had The Diabla, a concoction of vodka, jalapeño, raspberries,
pomegranate and lemon. Not as fiery as me, but ok lah! :P
Ritchie had the Brickhouse Margarita with himalayan salt rim.

And then the hunger games began!

DIY Bone Marrow Tacos

As you can see, I am not one who scrimps on my taco fillings. See the fleshy peach cubes?
Those were marrow jewels. I arranged them with oxtail salsa, chimichurri, epazote roasted
tomatoes, avocados, and pungent herb salad on a corn tortilla. Delicious!

Barbacoa Tacos.  Slow braised leg of goat, queso fresco, fruit and avocado salsa,
serrano pickled shallots, spanish onions, cilantro, lime, tortilla.

The meat looked scrumptious but didn't taste like much. It felt like eating shredded wet
cardboard sandwiched between dry cardboard.

We also had ribeye tacos, fish taco and shrimp taco. I didn't enjoy these as much as I did
the ones from Chicha (see post here)

Better than the tacos were these Mexican-Style Sweet Corn.
Rubbed with chili, mayo, lime and covered in queso, it was Cinco de Mayo in my mouth!
I hate to say best this, best that, but this really was THE BEST corn I had eaten in my life!!!

I know lava cakes are soooo overly overrated, but this Chili-Spiked Chocolate Cake
gave me the happies!

Thank you Paul and Ritchie for dinner! Mwah!!!
