Mabuhay Palace seems to be the default Chinese restaurant where we celebrate birthdays
of the Fatterside oldies. See Dad's birthday dinner here and Auntie Kiddie's here.
Tonight we all came in red to celebrate Uncle Frank's birthday
Even the napkin was in red :P
Complimentary crispy wonton chips drizzled with honey
We were so hungry we asked Cafe Ilang-Ilang for some dinner rolls. Thank you, Chef Mac! :)
As usual, I was in charge of the ordering.
And I got overly excited about it, too. As usual.
Birthday Noodles
Appetizer Platter
Wintermelon Soup. I wanted Buddha Jump Over the Wall soup but
Chef Sun Bing recommended a lighter option to go with our heavier mains.
Next time I'll stick with the jumping Buddha.
Peking Duck
Peking Duck Wraps
Taro Duck
Sea Bass with Crispy Bean
Scallops and Asparagus in XO Sauce
Baked Lobster Pit with Custard
It was as huge as my face!
Random sightings: Auntie Natalie in a shower cap!
@#$%^#*??????
(Last time she was in scrubs. See photo here.)
And my three Mabuhay Palace favorites:
Pork Tower
Eight Treasure Chicken
Homemade Spinach Tofu with Abalone
Spinach Tofu innards
Chinese Hopia only for dessert, but that's because we came with a battalion of birthday cakes
Uncle Frank and our dessert buffet (clockwise from top left):
Nikko's Mixed Berries Tres Leches, Pacita Mocha Cake, Park Avenue Desserts Banana Cream Pie,
Dessert du Jour Très Leches Cake, Estrel's Caramel Cake, Manila Hotel Chocolate Cake
My cousin Nikko's homemade tres leches topped with fresh berries
Errr…. My gulay! How do I blow out all these candles???
#seniorproblems
