I really enjoyed my first meal at Green Pastures (see post here) and wanted to try many other dishes on the menu so I suggested the place for dinner with Uncle Richard and Auntie Susan who are visiting from Vancouver.
I was so excited to cut into my Pinoy Egg and show off the golden ooze to our guests, but...
There was no ooze!!! I felt embarrassed and sad. :(
In fairness, the other egg we ordered (they must come in pairs!!!) was wet and runny.
Duck You! - duck fat fries, duck skin chicharon, duck confit.
This was extremely delicious it made me forgive and forget the egg boo-boo.
It was salty, spicy, soft, crunchy, gamey, potatoey all at the same time.
I was shy to, but next time I am gonna finish one order all by myself.
Duck You, Diet!!!
Organic Mushrooms Toast with quail eggs and house made ricotta.
You can't go wrong with earthy, eggy, cheesy bread.
Farmhouse Salad - shredded kale, chopped romaine, konbu roast chicken, mambo goat cheese,
hard-boiled eggs, dinelli bacon, corn, avocado, grape tomatoes, honey mustard dill vinaigrette
Roast Organic Chicken - cooked in konbu brine broth over low heat for 4 hours, the meat
was tasty and fall-off-the-bone tender. Yes, even the breast was soft and juicy. ;)
All'Amatriciana - housemade passato, pancetta, red onions, pecorino, bucatini.
The bucatini, a spaghetti-like noodle with hollow center, was fun to eat.
It was like chewing something and nothing at the same time. Kids would love this! Lol!
Octopus and Bone Marrow Fusilli
Braised Oxtail on polenta and gremolata - rich and creamy, hit the spot
Roast Organic Young Pig - rare breed, single hoofed, organic pork, roasted potatoes, pork au jus.
This tasted like Savory Chicken! I would have loved it except the pork was tough and dry,
and the skin thick and chewy.
All three desserts we ordered were delicious. We finished them in very little time.
Roasted Pineapple, Don Papa rum glaze, ginger creme brûlée
Ricotta Cheesecake with Lemon Curd
Milk Eggs Honey
Green Pastures serves organic tea and coffee (and wine!)
We had Sagada and Benguet
Happy times! :)
