Chez Dumonet came up many times when I was googling "the best duck confit in Paris."
And you know when in Paris, you must duck confit! (And chocolate, and macaron, and butter,
and croissant, and baguette, and cheese, and the list goes on forever and ever and ever…)
Maybe because the restaurant was deserted that's why service was over-friendly that day
Service bread and wine
Complimentary gazpacho
The server recommended I have the langoustines for starters
And he also insisted on standing on a stool to take this photo so he could capture all of the seafood
The scampi was so fresh and tasty I wiped out everything in no time
Confit de Canard Maison (with the best garlicky crispy potatoes!)
The skin was crisp and fatty, like a cross between fried chicken and chicharon.
The meat was tasty but not as moist and tender as I dreamt it to be.
For dessert, I couldn't decide between the Grand Marnier soufflé and the mille-feuille so I ended up ordering both. Problem solved!
The soufflé came with a shot of Grand Marnier
Acckkkkk!!! I poured only a little but the alcohol was too strong it ruined what
could possibly be the airiest, fluffiest soufflé I will ever have in my life. :(
Mille-Feuille Jean-Louise
Again, the server insisted I have a photo taken with my second dessert.
OMG!!! It was about 16 inches long!!!
The lady from the next table was so amused she asked if she could take a photo, too!
The lightest, crispest puff pastry with vanilla cream sandwiched in between.
It was not too sweet, not too rich...
Before I knew it I polished off the whole thing!
I wish the server did not hand me these.
Jin, who loves to eat, no matter how full, could not resist.
Look! Chocolate-covered grape!
Had to do some elimination after such a heavy meal :P
