The whole Robinsons Magnolia was quiet on a Thursday night.
Well, except for Yabu and my grumbling stomach.
And this month-old Argentinian restaurant called Gaucho (or in English, Cowboy)
The main attraction at Gaucho was this glass-encased fire pit where cow parts, baby
lambs, suckling pigs and other meats were roasted slowly over wood and charcoal.
It was crazy hot inside! I know because I opened the glass doors to take the suckling pig.
Oops. I mean to take this photo of the suckling pig. :P
It was wonderful to eat with people who move plates around and take pictures of a single dish
from a thousand angles. It made me feel normal again.
Capiz Baby Scallops Ceviche - the mollusks were very chewy in a not so very good way. Skip!
Chorizo, Anchovies, Tomatoes and Olives Fugazetta - this Argentinian thin crust pizza
made with chickpea flour and provolone was so tasty it made up for the soggy crust.
So good I could finish a whole board of this!
Lamb Empanadas - crescent-shaped pies filled with flavorful chopped up lamb.
Eat with chimichurri or hot sauce to add another level to your enjoyment.
Falda a la Cruz - pieces of US beef shortplate with pickled eggplant, shallots and cucumber.
So very tender and fatty! (NOT COMPLAINING.)
Cordero Entero a la Cruz - the Cagayan de Oro raised baby lamb was just as tender
Pastel Tres Leches - I wanted so much to like this, but sorry. No.
Misterio Malbec 2012
I was facing this guy all through dinner. I guess that makes him officially my date?
Ummm… not interested!

But I lust after his sizzlin' hot body! ;)
