My sister Jamie got married last December (see photos of the wedding preparation here, wedding ceremony here, and dinner reception here).
By the way, it's Benjamie because it's Benjie + Jamie. Sort of like Brad + Angelina = Brangelina. Har har har. :P
We've been bugging her to host dinner at her place since December.
After 7 months, she finally agreed.
Jamie has always been the artistic and quirky (and crazy?) one in the family, and you can see this from the way she set up their home.
And finally, the 6th of July!
It was the very first time in 28 years my littlest sister cooked for us
Table setup
Look how she served her dalandan juice - in Starbucks bottles that she hand painted herself!
This one is my favorite: "If we could eat rainbows…"
"… we could have more colored poop."
LOL.
I didn't know Corelle makes plates as cute as these!
Filipino Charcuterie and Cheese Platter: fried longganisa, smoked tanigue,
queso de bola, smoked edam, grapes, and other not-so-Filipino meats
Crostinis and Dips: Spicy Laing, Burong Hipon, Dinuguan
Dinuguan tastes as good on toasts as it does on puto. Promise!
Baby Spinach, Salted Egg, Cherry Tomato, Cashew Nut Salad
Lechon
Spicy Bangus, Sundried Tomato and Olives Spaghetti
Jamie's Bisteak a la Pobre. I had too many of this!
Kim brought this Bagnet Paella which was a big hit. It deserves a separate post of its own.
See it here.
Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay
My brother-in-law imports and distributes wines. Casas Patronales is one
of the few he carries.
Carmenere and Merlot. Pretty good stuff!
Bibingka and Putobumbong
Grandma's Cake from Magic Kitchen
Triple Hazelnut Mousse also from Magic Kitchen. This was heaven!
Merry Moo's Earl Grey Tea (the best!), Strawberry Shortcake and Sea Salt Caramel
My dessert plate. Of course, milk is always in order! :)
Us
Me.
I am going to London!
Okay, maybe I am as crazy as Jamie is.
Look what madness she did to her trash bins!
