Chef Ian Padilla of La Girolle has a new baby
(See my post on La Girolle here)
Brasserie Girolle is the handsome younger brother of The Girolle.
No wonder customers that night were 90% females ;P
Grilled bread
Pied de Cochon Croustillant - crispy pork trotters served with classic sauce gribiche.
The pork feet could use more flavor.
Foie Gras Poele - pan fried foie gras, caramelized apple, brandy
I love goose liver, especially when it is this fatty, creamy and buttery. I DIE.
Saint Jacques Poele - pan fried US scallops and mushroom cream sauce.
There's no way you can go wrong with scallops, mushrooms and cream,
not when they're all resting atop a bed of mashed potatoes!
Confit du Canard - crispy duck leg with salad and potato confit. I truly enjoyed this and
"accidentally" took most of that devilishly delicious fried skin when I intended to cut myself
a small piece only. Yeah riiiiiiiight. Order this and do NOT share.
Cote du Boeuf - US Prime Dry Age Bone In Ribeye, Medium Rare
May lost 15 pounds cutting the steak.
Auntie Judy complained of palindromic rheumatism.
I wish we ordered other steak options. The P5,xxx price tag was also a shocker.
Nevertheless, it is always fun eating with cousins from my not-fat side of the family :)
(Just as long as we schedule it on everyone's cheat day! Lol!)
Jin: Hey Mon, what diet are you on?
Monica: Diet?! Starvation!!!
May: Mon, that's my diet, too!
