I think this is one of the most enjoyable ways to spend a Saturday afternoon - in cooking class
with Pia-Lim Castillo
Pia's first class this 2013 is called "Appetizer Meals from Around the World"
We learned to make a total of 8 yummy dishes in about 4 hours. Whew!
The class was basically a cooking demo but we were also given opportunities to do some hands-on work.
This was Pia in action:
Look! I was not the only one taking photos! :)
And this was us trying our hands at it:
My sister Jamie
Wrapping her first dumpling ever
I bet you can guess which one was hers :P
This very studious yaya volunteered to try everything
She did a good job each time, too!
Star student talaga! Lol! :D
I swear I tried my very best to make it round, but the dough would not cooperate! Hahaha! :P
Pia: Hay nako, Jin!!! Kumain ka nalang nga!!!
And my favorite part of the class - Eating Time!!! :)
Shrimp and Kesong Puti Dumplings
Lamb in Filo Dough - my favorite!
Dolmades
Banana Heart and Kangkong Dip
It was really delicious on sesame crackers!
Garbanzos Con Espinacas
Parathas and Curried Prawn Dip
Tonnato Sauce
Soft Tofu and Century Egg Spoons
To end the class on a sweet note, Pia treated us to these very addicting chocolate mango cookies
Class Picture!
It was a fun afternoon learning and eating different appetizers from around the world (thank you, Auntie Babyruth!), except I also left smelling like I traveled all around the world.
When I bumped into cutie little S in the mall later that day, he stayed as far away from me as possible. Lol!
