I just got back to Paris from a whole day of walking in Versailles with only a banana nutella crepe for lunch. My feet didn't agree with my stomach's original plan of queueing up for hours for another great meal at Le Comptoir. (Last time was amazing! Read about it here.)
The feet wanted to rest.
They chose to the rest in this restaurant because it looked really nice from the outside.
AND there was no queue
And the eyes saw this oyster platter poster and the mouth began to water
It seemed like Les Ministeres had not been renovated for the last one hundred centuries.
It felt old and musty. The waiter put a slice of bread in front of me before I could change my mind
and flee.
It was the driest and stalest bread I had ever tasted in my life. Ugh!
Good thing I passed by Eric Kayser earlier. I was so hungry I didn't care if it was rude,
I ate this excellent EK tolbiac baguette with the restaurant's butter
The petit chablis tasted like it's been left open for weeks
Oyster Platter
Brochette de Magret de Canard Francais au Caramel Balsamique
The duck was so tough I swear my jaws acquired muscles from chewing!
The best part of the meal were the roasted baby potatoes.
And my Eric Kayser baguette.
Of course I didn't stay for dessert
Damn you, oyster ad! :P
