I came to Paris to eat pastries.
I said the exact same thing to the immigration officer when he asked me for the purpose of my visit.
"To eat the best pastries."
He took a look at my two layers of chin and smilingly let me in.
I arrived La Patisserie Des Réves 10 minutes before closing. It was too late.
Two of the three pastries I wanted to try were gone. Le Saint-Honoré was gone.
Le Mille-feuille du Dimanche was gone.
But they still had one piece left of Le Paris-Brest. Merci beaucoup, Jésus!!!
The packaging was genius. My precious arrived home in tiptop form.
La Patisserie des Réves' version of Paris Brest has six baby puffs baked together to form a ring
of choux love. Anyone can propose marriage to me with this ring and I'd absolutely say yes!
Sandwiched between each puff was a ball of rich and smooth praline cream and... wait for it...
Chocolate-praline ooze!!!
This is the stuff dreams are made of. This is the stuff you give up singledom for.
Yes, I will marry you, Philippe Conticini! :)
