Finestra is the signature Italian restaurant at the newly opened Solaire Resort. The interiors are all-out va va voom.
The high ceilings
The drop down chandeliers and wall embellishments
The open kitchen
The calm in the open kitchen
The red pants!!!
The antipasti buffet that is available during lunch
The bread basket. THE CHEESE BREAD.
The bread accessories
Cream of porcini mushroom with truffle foam
Good and earthy but not excellent.
Bianca con Rucola
Finestra's pizza is more the soft and pillowy type than the crusty type.
I liked the chewy parts but there were also some wet and soggy portions.
It also arrived in one whole piece so we asked our server to cut it for us.
She massacred the poor thing before our eyes! I wanted to call the Pizza Police,
but tried to remain calm and forgiving throughout the ordeal.
Believe me it was a very sorry sight. :(
I ended up with a do-it-yourself slice, picking out the toppings I wanted
from the murdered pizza. I admit it was kind of fun.
Veal cutlet Milanese with cauliflowers, chopped tomatoes and arugula salad
This was huge in size but tasted just okay. I couldn't help comparing it to the more flavorful
version I had at 8 ½ Otto e Mezzo Bombana. The arugula salad was a treat.
Sardinian lamb chops with herbs, potatoes and pearl onions "pizzaiola,"
roasted eggplant puree with cinnamon
Could be better seasoned and A LOT more tender
Tiramisu solaire. What a letdown.
Finestre is a lovely place. But the food and service are not yet there.
We had to call the server many times to refill our glasses, the supervisor came by and asked fleetingly how the food was but didn't seem genuinely interested to know the answer.
The food definitely needs more love.
Our bill arrived wet and peeling on some parts. Ano ba yan, Finestra?
In fairness, I loved their carpet
And the toothpick dispenser :P
