Of course, Angelina will always be in every chocolate lover's Paris list.
Before you get to the dining room, Angelina tempts you with bottled chocolate drinks,
chestnut cream, jams, chocolate bars, etc etc etc
On the other side is a nice display of pretty pastries. I love window shopping!
Choux pastries with lots and lots of cream are my favorite. Right then and there I already
decided what I was gonna have for dessert
And then something exciting happened to me. A lady walked up to me and asked if I was Jinlovestoeat!
I get that sometimes in Manila and a few times in Hong Kong, but Paris… Wow! :)
So happy to see and talk to people from home!!! I haven't spoken a single Tagalog word
since I arrived in France and this felt really wonderful! Thank you, Margie! :)
The dining room at Angelina was full for lunch, but it is always easy to get a table for one
I'm starting to get the hang of dating an empty chair :P
Breads
I thought I'd do a light salad lunch so I wouldn't feel so guilty about ordering two desserts.
I chose the Angelina Foie Gras Salad which came with a HUGE slab of foie gras terrine, artichokes,
green beans, tomatoes, avocado, hard boiled egg on a bed of mesclun. Okay, so I was not too
keen about the "light" part, but hey, a salad is a salad! And don't worry, I didn't finish it because
it wasn't really that great. I thought the ingredients didn't go so well together and the proportions
were all wrong. Sorry, Angelina.
But your hot chocolate rocks!
Old fashioned hot chocolate "L'Africain"
This little jug of love is the reason for Angelina. It was no ordinary hot cocoa.
Rich, thick, creamy, velvety, it was pure chocolate in melted form,
like a macho chocolate man on double dose of steroids! Ooh la la! ;)
And ohmygoodness the chantilly whipped cream!!!
This put me in a delirious hot chocolate trance I swear you could have
asked me for anything at that moment and I would happily submit
I got out of the trance just long enough to point at my two dessert picks
Yes, two, because I needed my choux fix and Margie said I mustn't leave without trying her favorite -
Angelina's signature pastry, the Mont Blanc
Chou Framboise
Because, I repeat, I love choux pasty and lots of cream!
Le Mont Blanc
More chantilly whipped cream (yay!) sitting on crunchy meringue and
covered in decadent chestnut cream. This tasted like a queen!
The Queen of Takaw is happy happy! :)
