After our yummylicious dinner at Kanyoen, our younger cousins convinced us to go to "THE Party of the Year," "THE ONLY place to be on January 18," where all the peoples of Cebu, Manila, and all the universe gather for the biggest outdoor party of the century - Life Dance.
Tsk. Kids nowadays. They love to exaggerate.
But we did see Raymond Gutierrez and his gang (or crew. That's what they call "friends" nowadays, right?). Lol.
As soon as we got to the venue, the oldies knew right away this was not a place for us.
Proof that we tried, but didn't agree
So we left the young ones to party and hung out at a place that is more "us."
La Marea
This popular dessert place has a good selection of cakes and cupcakes, but I was here
for the brownie cups that I've been forever hearing about
It was a difficult decision between Peanut Butter and Triple Chocolate
In the end, Peanut Butter won. I figured it had peanut butter AND chocolate so I'd still get
my two favorite things in a single cup. It was just alright. The brownie was moist and not
too sweet, but I wish they were a lot more generous with the peanut butter. Or used peanut
butter ice cream.
Frances was disappointed with her Tsokolate brownie cup. It was overbaked and
didn't have the slightest hint of native chocolate.
Achi Donna was quite excited about her Royal Bibingka. Until her first spoonful, that is.
It was dry. There was nothing royal about it.
She said her Hot Chocolate tasted instant, but finished it anyway :P
I wanted coffee with my brownie cup, but the staff said the coffee machine was turned off already. Hooray for service.
And so, on the night of January 18, while the kids had the best short-lived time of their lives
(We imposed a 2-hour limit)
Complete with 3D glasses
We, the oldies, had the time of our lives consuming more food while talking incessantly about food
