Quick breakfast-lunch before we hit the airport
Each of us picked a dish and we shared everything, Fatterside-style.
The Skillet Breakfast - two farm fresh eggs, herbed potato hash, smoked bacon, country sausage,
fresh tomato, breakfast beans
Biscuits and Gravy
Buttermilk Pancakes - fluffy enough and I appreciate the blueberries hiding inside
Cinnamon Brioche French Toast - this was dry and void of flavor
Smoked Salmon Benedict
Buttermilk Fried Chicken
Crispy Beer Battered Fish Burger
Onion Rings
All the above dishes lacked that oomph. I was content with just my share of each item, and didn't have the urge to steal from other people's plates.
Except with this one:
Homemade Meatloaf with ketchup glaze, French beans, creamy mash and onion gravy.
This was rich, hearty and creamy, comfort food that hit the spot.
Now guess who was the genius who ordered it. ;)
My reward to myself was this warm chocolate brownie
