The Little Things My Mom Buys, Part 1

My mom loves to buy little fluffy things.

She doesn't like pets in the house, but apparently, she couldn't resist these cute and cuddly colored chicks.

They're sooooo adorable I couldn't get my hands off them.

This is Lemon. She thinks the rooster is her papa.

She daydreams about having a vacation in Bellarocca

Lemon likes to look at her colorful reflection in the mirror

IMG 7679

And snuggle in the curve of my hand until she snores

Samwon Garden ♥

They say when in Korea, eat Korean barbecue.

SNC11411

So I did

I hate to say this, but I've had better Korean meals in Manila.

Samwon Garden, you tourist trap you.

I wish it served better food, because the traditional Korean garden with thatched roofs, watermills, waterfalls and ponds was really beautiful.

Sanchon ♥

SNC11591

No cultural trip to Seoul is complete without having dinner at Sanchon

SNC11558

It's no lavish meal. You come here to eat Buddhist style food served in the mountain temples.

SNC11560

Buddhist temple food means vegetables, roots, fruits, tree barks, seaweeds and cereals.
They use no garlic, onion, scallions, red spices, artificial seasonings… and meat. Waaahhh.
Yes, you travel all the way to Seoul to eat like a horse.

Tonight's menu: Perilla seeds soup, bean curd, bing, assorted wild vegetables, kimchi, lettuce salad,
vegetable fries, jeon, chapchae, soy sauce boiled potatoes, boiled goso, deodeok muchim, rice,
vegetable pot stew, tea, oil and honey pastry. Can't say much for the food, but I love the reddish
wood bowls made from zelkova trees.

You come to Sanchon for the ambiance, traditional folk dance and Buddhist dance
