The Whole Menu.
Yes, I think we ordered almost everything on it!
Except for the al dente palabok which I really liked, and the salmon wellington which I very much disliked, everything else was pretty standard.
Sopa Molo Castiliana - garlic soup with deep fried pork dumpling, poached egg and parsley
Truffle Mushroom Puree - thick and creamy soup made from a trio of fresh mushrooms and
drizzled with truffle oil
Onion Soup Gratinee - sweet onions in a flavorful broth topped with baked gruyere caramelized
crouton
Vigan Empanada
Some kind of turnover, maybe tuna
Warm Breaded Goat Cheese Salad - pan fried goat cheese with arugula and mesclun
Pork Belly Humba - pork belly stew with banana blossoms, peanuts and fermented black beans
Pancit Palabok - rice noodles with savory shrimp sauce, smoked fish flakes topped with
pork cracklings. Loved this!
Bulalo Steak a la Pobre - pan seared tender beef shank topped with fried garlic
Roasted Chicken Inasal - grilled lemongrass-flavored chicken quarters with annatto oil
Lengua in Mushroom-Cognac Sauce - braised ox tongue in a tomato base with mushrooms and olives
Pinakbet with Vigan Bagnet - stewed vegetables in bagoong Balayan topped with crunchy pork
Lenguado Meuniere a la Beurre Noisette - pan fried sole fillet with butter, fresh dill and capers
Ox Tail Kare-Kare - braised ox tail in peanut sauce with vegetables and sauteed shrimp paste
Oven-Baked Salmon Wellington - salmon fillet stuffed with boursin cheese in a pastry crust
with spinach lemon cream sauce. Horribly dry and overcooked. :(
Dinuguan at Puto - native pork stew served with rice cakes
Pork Stew Binagoongan - crunchy pork belly with string beans and cherry tomatoes
sauteed in shrimp paste
Lamb Kaldereta - slow stewed lamb shoulder cooked in spicy tomato sauce and served with risotto
This is the risotto. It tasted like mayonnaise rice.
Baked Cherry Walnut Cheesecake
Ultimate Carrot Cake
Chocolate Caramel Cake
Malacanang Frozen Souffle - frozen lemon custard souffle with dark chocolate flakes,
pistachio and lemon lavender sauce
Casa Sangria - according to Nikko, this tasted like iced tea
Good thing she brought a bottle tonight
