My favorite weekend thing to do in Rockwell is to hit the Baker's Dozen. Sometimes I think it needs new vendors but I'd get really depressed to see my best-loved "sukis" go.
I always pause to watch this jolly man play. He is so passionate about his craft it is evident
in the way he closes his eyes and smiles as his fingers move across the ivory.
I swear I can see hearts and musical notes pip popping out of this body.
I'm gonna hire him for my 40-and-Still-Single birthday bash.
Costa Brava is my first stop all the time. Never a weekend goes by without me having chicken pie.
She's rarely there, but last week I finally got to meet the owner, one of my favorite home bakers,
Mrs. Juda Liu
Her Chicken Mushroom Pie is our movie snack staple
And her Caramel Cake is, for me, the best ever
That's Mrs. Liu personalizing the cake for me :)
I also love Joyce's Dulong. It's great on melba toasts, regular toasts, Skyflakes and pasta
Joyce's Queso de Bola Crisps are addicting, too. Once you pop, you can't stop! :P
Of course, Fruit Garden jams
My favorite is the seasonal Lychee Berry Rose (it's available now so… get ready and hoard!!!)
Sugarbee caught my attention because the Impossible Cake looked really familiar ;)
Tried their Cheesecake Cookie. It was cute but tasted just okay.
I will be forever grateful to Tina for introducing me to Sugarbee's Alfajores. Sweet and gooey
dulce de leche sandwiched between two shortbread cookies. First time I had it, I wasn't able to
stop until I had like six. Or seven. I wish it had more dulce de leche but I'm sure the makers
are just watching my weight :P
And because she is so cute and creamy and pink, I stopped by Sugar Cakes to try Ana's creations
The Tres Leches cupcake is moist and milky, but I prefer more sweet milk in it. I know, I'm a cow.
I think her red velvet cupcake is the best in Manila.
Random stuff: Spotted Marilyn Monroe at the MAC boutique :P
