And who would have thought that in a seedy area in Makati a warm and cozy place like this actually exists.
Bistro Mondo Dining Room
Unfortunately, the dining room was booked for a party that night so we had to eat at the rooftop bar.
Fortunately, the food more than made up for the lack of ambiance… and the lack of air-conditioning.
All the dishes were hearty and the flavors unpretentious. I see myself coming back to try more.
Mushroom Trio
Shiitake, button and oyster mushrooms sautéed in garlic and brandy finished with demi glazed
and a touch of cream
Beef Carpaccio
Thinly sliced beef tenderloin finished with olive oil, lemon, basil and parmesan cheese
Sesame Dory
Pan seared John Dory fillet coated in sesame seeds served with white wine ginger mushroom sauce
with spinach mashed potatoes and veggies
Spedini Gambari Marselesse
Grilled shrimps in a light cheese and bread crumb coating served with gently spiced olive oil,
garlic, tomato and gorgonzola sauce on agli e olio pasta
Beef Tenderloin Provencal
Pan roasted beef tenderloin medallions topped with shallots and garlic simmered in butter
and served with potato gratin and grilled vegetables
For the main event, Tina brought this Adzuki Cream Cake by Joan & Jane
