Clube Militar de Macau ♥

 

 

Frances and I are so very excited to dine in the historic Military Club in Macau. It was, after all, the private recreation center for the military officers since the 1870s. The restaurant finally opened to the public in 1995, and after almost 2 decades, we come to eat.

Sadly though, the food at Clube Militar does not match up to the grand colonial feel of the place.

Everything tastes mediocre.

 

Goat cheese with confit apple in puff pastry tart, dried fruits and port wine reduction

 

Traditional Portuguese cabbage soup with sausage

 

Sautéed clams Portuguese style

 

 

African chicken marinated with garlic, onion, chill and coconut,
roasted and served with gratinated potatoes and mixed salad

 

 

Roasted suckling pig "Bairrada" style served with pals-pala potatoes, tomatoes and origans

 

 

Codfish crunch with fresh tomato in olive oil infusion

Wet seafood rice club style

 

 

Chocolate cake served with vanilla ice cream

 

 

Crème Brulée with Jasmine tea, caramelized pear cake

 

 

Warmed apple crumble with vanilla ice cream perfumed with cinnamon
