And Frances is at it again, planning all-out surprise dinners for family occasions. And this occasion is a very special one because it is her mom and dad’s wedding anniversary.
Twenty nine years.
Whew. Can you imagine being with a person for that loooooooooooooooong?
Dearest Auntie Babie and Uncle Frank, you are truly an inspiration to all of us.
Walking to our “space” at Whitespace
Little nook in the corner of the room
I love the little details Frances thinks of, like filling up this coffee table with photos of
Uncle Frank and Auntie Babie from the 70’s to the present
Pretty place cards (and isn’t that a pretty name!)
Of course, special place cards for the guests of honor
More old photos on top of Fiori di M centerpieces
Personalized guestbook for everyone to fill up
Wedding cake with beautiful roses
And this colorful display of pasta… belongs to Whitespace. Hehe.
The theme tonight is flowers. All the ladies are asked to come in pretty, flowery dresses. Because, according to Frances, love is like a garden. Naks!
The Fatterside Oldies But Goodies
I have always loved restaurants by Margarita Fores. Lusso and Cibo are my favorite mall eats. So it is really no surprise how brilliant dinner is. Save for the chicken which is just a bit dry (but still very tasty), each course deserves a standing ovation.
Margarita Fores, I love you! ♥
Salmon Tartare with Lemon Vinaigrette
Artichoke Dip – this is so good I finished a whole bowl
Bread with Olive Oil and Fresh Garlic
Cream of Summer Squash Soup, Rye Shards
Insalata “Al Sole” - Field Greens and Cress, Walnuts, Sagada Orange, Citrus-White Wine Vinaigrette
Spinach Raviolo, Gamberi, Calamari, Crabmeat, Pink Tomato Cream, Leek Hay –
look how generous they are with the filling!
Baked Chicken Breast, Walnut Crust, Gorgonzola-Provolone Melt, Tomato and Basil Passato
Valrhona Chocolate Torta, Cebu Mangoes, Cerveza Negra Mousseline
Even the iced tea deserves a standing ovation!
Coffee and tea. (I’m a coffee girl)
The Soriano sisters prepare for their parents an enjoyable photo slideshow.
They drank Mountain Dew then.
They drink red wine now.
Wedding anniversary toast. Wine symbolizes joy, intoxication and fertility (uuuyyy!!!)
Cake-cutting. The very first task in a couple’s life together.
Cake-feeding. A symbol of their mutual commitment to share and provide for each other.
The Soriano triplets and their parents. Great job, girls!
Souvenirs are floral-scented soaps Frances ordered from Australia. Mine’s lavender.
Mom likes her souvenir, too. (Yes, she took the centerpiece home!)
