Balducci ♥ ♥ and Bar Dolci ♥ ♥ ♥

 

Sherylou lives in Cubao, Sheryl lives in New Manila, Jen lives in Pasig, and I live in Paranaque. So you see, impromptu dinners with my girlfriends, they almost never happen.

Almost.

Except for one Thursday night when Sheryl suddenly calls at 4pm and suggests dinner at 6:30pm.

OMG! OMG! This is exciting, spontaneous stuff!!! (You must forgive me, I’m a geek like that)

 

I spread mine generously with liver pate and then pile a heap of tomato salsa on top

 

Insalata Rucola – I’ve always loved the bitter earthiness of arugula.
Tossed with gorgonzola, walnuts and fresh pear, this salad makes for a perfect start.

 

Special Tagliatelle in a Truffle Sauce Wrapped in Prosciutto – really, who can go wrong
with truffle cream and prosciutto? This is LOVE.

 

Quattro Formaggi Pizza – I wish for stinky cheeses and a thinner crust

 

Grilled French-cut Rack of Lamb with Homemade Mint Sauce – the lamb is tough and flavorless, the mint sauce more sweet than minty

 

Girls from different cities: Jen, Sherylou, Sheryl and Me

 

After dinner at Balducci, we go for dessert at Bar Dolci.

Yes, because Bar Dolci rhymes beautifully with Balducci. (Me = Geek)

And because it is home to some of the best gelatos in Manila.

 

Jen has the Vanilla Pistachio which we find a bit too sweet

 

Sherylou has Ferrero and Extra Dark Chocolate, THE ULTIMATE INDULGENCE.

 

 I have Extra Dark Chocolate and Pistachio. I DIE AND GO TO HEAVEN.

 

And Sheryl has coffee. Corny talaga nya!
