I hope I get to see all of Mae Taeng’s 53 elephants today.
But I hope they don’t come at me altogether. Gulp.
Bananas and sugar cane for sale. Not for you, dumdum. For Dumbo!
We go for the full day package which includes an entertaining elephant show, a slow but sure ox cart ride and elephant ride that take us around the park which is enveloped in breathtaking views, a simple buffet lunch and a relaxing, scenic bamboo raft ride down the serene Mae Taeng River.
Whew.
Too much nature for a city girl. Me likey!
Holding tails (just like in the movie… awww…)
Playing dead (too cute, hihihi!)
Kneeling with one leg up (I can do that, too… err… I think?)
Flirting with a human (Atta boy!)
Some kind of rope trick which I don’t get
He’s gonna draw! He’s gonna draw!
Ta-Da!!! Complete with leaves and grass, too!
Groovin’ to the music (check out the moves of the one in the middle)
Great job, Dumbo! Here’s some sugarcane treat for you.
Dropping a hat on my head/face (oops!)
Then it’s time for our ox cart ride
Uncle Richard, Auntie Susan, Sam, Me and our tour guide Ah Fang pulled by
a rare breed of Lampoons
And then we ride them Dumbos. Yay!
See how big they are and how narrow the road is. Can YOU do that sexy walk?
For those wanting to stay longer and wake up to the sight and sound of the magnificent creatures, modern lodging is available in the park.
One of the bigger units facing the river
Kinda cool how they are now two-toned
Coming up is a bit scary (Please don’t slip, please don’t slip!)
We have a simple lunch at a place simply called “Restaurant”
It’s a buffet. Please feel free to take off your shirts.
My warm-up bowl: chicken noodle soup
My main plate: pad thai, squash, chicken with black fungus, vegetable spring roll
My dessert plate: fried bananas
Yup, that is it.
And the reason why I cannot afford to eat more?
This. I am afraid for the bamboo raft.
Sorry for giving you a hard time with all this weight, Mister Paddler!
Mama and Baby Elephants. Just too adorable!!!
Thank you, Uncle Richard, Auntie Susan and Sam for letting me tag along this trip!
