This is how I first knew about Bar Dolci.
An Italian Salami Christmas gift from Sam and Peep. Thank you, Sammy and Peepy!
Not salty and waxy like the commercial ones out there, Bar Dolci’s salami tastes of homemade goodness and is quick to impress my mellow taste buds. AND it is proudly
made with local pork (hooray to supporting Filipino pigs! Oink!) I enjoy it with cheese,
by itself, with pasta, with… ooops, it’s ALL GONE!!! So I go to the Burgos Circle shop to replenish my stock.
And this is what greets me.
Gelatos, peoples, cakes and macarons!
Big peoples, small peoples, all wanting to try delicious homemade gelatos
So I forget about my salami temporarily (will be available in store later on) and order me up some ice-cold sweets and mousse-y sweets.
OMG! So many choices!!! Pistachio, Bubble Gum, Walnut, Stracciatella, Tiramisu, Ferrero, Limoncello, Choco Peanut, Amarena Cheesecake, Vaniglia, Strawberry, Cookies, Black Forest, Extra Dark, Milk Choco, White Choco (flavors in colorful bold are those I wanna try) Extra Dark, Extra Dark, Extra Dark!!!
Upstairs there is a nice area overlooking the restaurant strip
And 3 LCDs so no one ever has to fight over the remote. Evahhh!
Thai Tea – I promise the gelato was overflowing when I was handed the cup, but this frozen version of Thai iced tea is soooo like-the-real-thing good there’s only this much left when I finally settle on my seat. Thank you, Uncle Peter! I will definitely, definitely be back for this!
Amarena Cheesecake – a lot of sweetness here, a lot of tartness there.
Warning: For real deal sour cherry cheesecake lovers only. Not for sissies.
3 Layered Chocolate Mousse – for those who fancy something light, this is it. The white
chocolate layer on top squishes the mousse when I try to pierce it with my fork.
But no worries, I peel it off and eat it just like that.
Pistachio Bavarois with Chocolate Mousse – smooth, light and creamy. The subtle hint of pistachio does not fight, but rather complements, the subtle hint of chocolate.
Of course, I couldn’t leave without taking all flavors of the macarons home.
Clockwise from top: Pistachio, Chocolate, Raspberry, Coffee, and Passion Fruit Chocolate. Bar Dolci’s macarons are bigger than most out there (just saying, definitely not complaining!) and they’re all perfectly shaped, too (you see, the green and orange ones, my big butt accidentally leaned on them, that’s why) My favorite? CHOCOLATE.
Gotta go back for more gelato.
