According to our good friend Alvin, Fu Sing has the best chasiu and chasiu buns in the whole of Hong Kong, and on one fine day, he takes me and Cathy there for lunch.
Baked BBQ Pork Bun 酥皮叉燒包 – these are indeed very good, crisp, hot and buttery.
And Alvin, being the smart guy that he is, orders 2 servings right away.
We finish these in no time.
BBQ Pork 和哥叉燒 – tender and porky, but personally, I still like Dynasty’s chasiu the best
Steamed Shrimp Dumpling 蝦餃
Roasted Pork 冰燒三層肉 – skin is crunchy, meat is tender, but nothing beats Lei Garden’s
Chinese Lettuce with Home-made Shrimp Paste 蝦醬生菜煲 – oily but absolutely delicious!
Crispy Chicken 脆皮燒雞 – a dish perfected by almost all Cantonese restaurants
I forgot to get the name of this fried rice, so please, print out this photo (or download it on your phone, or take a snapshot of the screen, etc, etc) and show it to your server.
You will not regret it.
Me, Cathy, Alvin
Thank you, Alvin!
Remembering the good meal at Fu Sing, I take my parents there on a recent trip to Hong Kong. I order a few items I liked from before, and am quite disappointed.
Baked BBQ buns are served cold Roasted pork is not as tender
Lettuce in shrimp paste still as good Chasiu is hard and lacks flavor
Duck Tongue and Gizzard – nice, cold and tasty
Braised Goose Web in Oyster Sauce 火腿汁扣鵝掌 – soft but bland
Chilled Mango Pomelo Sago Soup 楊枝甘露 – with big chunks of mango
Sesame Glutinous Ball in Longan Red Date Soup 桂圓紅棗茶麻蓉湯丸
Red Bean Soup 紅豆湯 – delicious and not too sweet
