Coming back to Celadon gives me a light and happy feeling... you know… that feeling you get from life’s simple pleasures, like enjoying a meal in a beautiful dining room in the middle of a lotus pond. So peaceful, so tranquil, so serene.
See what I mean? You feel it, too, don’t you?
Our server shows us the specials using an iPad. Ooooohhh.
Impressed with this photo, we order the exact same dish.
Crispy Ruby fish, fried garlic, fresh chilies, garlic chives – unfortunately, it tastes like Chinese food, and I don’t really like Chinese food. Although in fairness, the fish is tender
and well-prepared. But, hello?? I’m in Bangkok and I want Bangkok food! Next time I’ll
stick with my Thai favorites.
Dry red curry of slow-cooked duck and lychees – this never fails to satisfy, it is as good as I remember, if not even better. The duck is fall-off-the-bone tender, and the curry very flavorful and fresh-basil-fragrant.
Pad thai – my Bangkok staple. The noodles are cooked to the springy consistency I love, and served with generous portion of crab meat and river prawn that is fatty and succulent.
I finish almost all of this by myself.
Sticky rice with mango – I purposely skip the hot, fluffy and fragrant Thai jasmine rice for this and I do NOT regret it, not one single bit. The mango is super sweet it’s hard to believe it’s but natural, and the sticky rice with coconut cream is so rich and wonderful especially with the nuttiness of the toasted sesame. Simply the ultimate Thai indulgence.
Somehow, looking out the dining room window makes me feel like a frog
(one still patiently waiting for The Kiss)
Hihihi.
