My favorite animal is steak.
Fran Lebowitz, so you read my mind.
I can’t believe I almost missed this dinner.
Almost.
But, thanks to Auntie Baby, I get here in time.
Whew.
Signature Salad – beautiful tasting balsamic vinaigrette, although I miss their old dressing of sesame vinaigrette
What I like about Elbert’s steaks is that they are very nicely seasoned. The restaurant website says they use only grape seed oil, freshly ground pepper, and Sicilian sea salt.
And I agree. When you have good quality meat, these are all you need.
Our server places 2 sets of sauces and condiments on our table.
I tell you, we almost never feel the need to dip our steaks into them.
New York cut USDA “Super” Prime Striploin (half portion) with Truffled Mashed Potato
USDA “Super” Prime Ribeye with Porcini Mushroom Risotto
Slow-roasted Bone-in USDA Choice Grade Prime Rib – what I order tonight and I have to say, my favorite of all
Linguini Mushroom Black Truffle Sauce – lacks black truffle taste
Dessert Sampler, clockwise from top left: Best Chocolate Mousse (sorry, can’t second that), Almond Bar, Marble Cheesecake, Panna Cotta (best of the four)
Napkins in place, forks and knives up!
