How do you know when you’ve turned into an old and boring grandma?
When you fly all the way to Hong Kong to attend your cousin’s bridal shower in the party central of Asia and you have all the reason and excuse to do anything and everything wild and crazy and spontaneous with absolutely no one to judge you…
And all you do is eat.
But this is our idea of a fun and wild night. Clockwise from top left: Rita T., Rosanna, Ritchie (the bride-to-be), Rita G., Chelo, Donna, Me, Frances, Nikko
Wild mushroom and parmesan risotto balls – crunchy outside, soft and creamy inside. These are super delicious, one piece is never enough.
Calamari in peri-peri sauce – the squid is fresh and the sauce tastes heavenly. Please do not waste a drop. Ask for bread.
Shrimps pan-fried in garlic, lemon and chili – just okay
Portobello mushroom stuffed with feta, marinated peppers and sundried tomato – healthy and yummy
Four cheese pizza – with mozzarella, gruyere, brie and parmesan. The crust is thin and crisp and I love the arugula on top, but I wish blue cheese was one of them four cheeses.
Salami pizza – again, I like the addition of fresh herbs on top. Pizza is just okay.
Seafood platter – lemon squid, chili tiger prawns, garlic mussels, herbed cod chunks, cumin salmon strips, sesame seared tuna skewers, rosemary new potatoes
Creamy cheesecake with passion fruit coulis – the tangy passion fruit sauce complements well the light and creamy cheesecake
Brandy-date pudding with fresh whipped cream – very moist and not too sweet
Bacar coffee-banoffi pie – layers of biscuit, caramel, banana and coffee cream. Yum.
Chocolate and almond mudcake with mascarpone and chocolate sauce – dark chocolate cake in dark chocolate sauce. What more can I ask for?
Okay, fine.
We did something sort of wild after dinner.
We went to Azure for drinks…
… and picked up these three men.
Shhhh!!!!!
