I love pad thai to death. When I am in Bangkok, I eat pad thai three times a day everyday. And because I love pad thai, I love all the other thai foods that go well with the rice noodle dish. I wish I could fly to Bangkok every breakfast, lunch and dinner, but I am a poor girl who cannot afford. So I just gatecrash when my folks have dinner at Dusit Thani Hotel’s Benjarong, Manila’s very own Thai food heaven.
Beautiful plates, bowls and whatnots hanging on the wall
Everything in Benjarong is delicious!
Shrimp and vegetables wrapped in rice noodle sheet – Yes.
Deep fried shrimp cake with light curry flavor – YES!
Marinated boneless chicken wrapped in pandan leaves – YES!
Green chicken curry – the only “no” dish, but it is a “NO!” with vengeance. The chicken is too tough and too dry it’s an unforgivable crime.
Roasted duck in sweet and sour red curry – YES and YES!
Fried rice with shrimp paste – Yes!
My all time favorite and the very reason why I love all things Thai… PAD THAI – YES, YES, AND YES!!!
Ripe mango with sticky rice – YES, YES, AND YES!!!
The food in Benjarong is truly awesome. It is as close to the real thing as you can get.
I feel like I am in Thailand already.
